The Wedding Expo® is recognised nationally as the best known and most reliable brand producing the largest, most prestigious and longest standing bridal show in southern Africa. The show is known for its quality and diversity of exhibitor, ensuring an experience for brides and grooms that is comprehensive in both style and budget, therefore appealing to a variety of visitors.
From inception in 2001 with one show per year, the show quickly grew to meet demands and in 2005 increased to two shows annually. In 2015, The Wedding Expo launched in Durban at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and in Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium, moving to the CTICC in 2016.
Collectively, The Wedding Expo hosts up to 750 premier bridal industry exhibitors per year and almost 20 000 visitors per year, who come from all over South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and as far afield as Kenya.
60% of the visitors who attend The Wedding Expo® is made up of the bride – a young woman between the age of 23 and 35 years, from the LSM 6-10 group.
The Wedding Expo® team work a full year promoting the four events implementing the extensive advertising and marketing campaign which encompasses outdoor media, radio, bridal magazines and social media. The growing numbers which visit The Wedding Expo® are a testament to the success of these campaigns, validated by research confirming that outdoor media remains the avenue by which visitors are made aware of The Wedding Expo® . This is followed closely by the internet.
One of SA’s leading bridal magazines, South African Wedding Inspirations brings future brides fresh ideas, inspiration and expert advice on every aspect of weddings. The perfect bridesmaid in your handbag, it is on shelf four times a year. You will find it on the shelves of all major retailers and at bridal shows nationally including The Wedding Expo® at the Ticketpro Dome in Northgate, Johannesburg in March and August, at the CTICC, Cape Town in June and at the Durban Exhibition Centre, Durban in August each year.
Wedding Inspirations magazine was launched in 2007 as an A5 magazine distributed for free at each The Wedding Expo. The magazine grew in popularity and was then distributed through selected retail stores. In 2012, the magazine relaunched as an A4 glossy bridal magazine with 4 issues per year.
Advertising billboards are a fantastic medium for promoting an event, a new magazine, products or services, but what happens once the campaign is over?
All of The Wedding Expo large format printing eg: vinyls from our fashion show backdrops and our outdoor moving media campaign are up-cycled into shopper bags. We work with the Eco Smart Group.
